Valdorian Age - Rising Power on the Frontier
Elweir Legal System
The biggest laws to watch out for are murder and stealing. However it is possible for the Magistrate to charge anyone with conduct offensive to the prince. If a crime is noteworthy enough for the Magistrate to care, he will pursue it. When a criminal is caught, they either bribe the Magistrate and are set free or face the punishment. Likewise, if a crime is not noteworthy enough for the Magistrate to pursue it, a victim of the crime can bribe the Magistrate to care. Bribes, while rarely understood by barbarians, are recognized as a normal part of the job. If the bribe happens with a guard, the money is expected to trickle up to the Magistrate. In the center of town there are roads known as the Price’s Road. These roads are considered a safe haven from criminals due to the sheer number of guards.
