To Protect the paths of the dead

After resolving the assassin group that had infiltrated Elweir and dealing with the the mage who had come to try and burn Elweir down and recover two stone tablets designed to keep the dead from rising. After discovering this fact it became a top priority to recover these tablets. Only one small problem the temple had collapsed in an earthquake almost one thousand years ago. Fortunately, Barius had provided us with the key a date book with a list of times that would reveal the location of this temple.

After checking out the area a couple of times to find out where we would need to go we headed out to this site. It was no trouble to find it and descend into its sunken depths. At first it appeared that the temple might have been trapped to prevent intruders until we realized that it was rust from old torch holders. As we moved further in to the temple it became clear that this temple has suffered serious damage from the earthquake.

Further inside we discovered a pair of giant spiders who had decided to make this place home and although we found giant rats I have no idea what they were eating for their food. Eventually, we made our way to the central chapel which was largely intact. As we examined the room Aliella found the tablets and with the aid of her ‘holy’ guardian started to pick them up. This action however woke up the guardian of the temple which was created to protect those tablets from being removed. Lierin, her cousin, and Fiona were chipping away at it while I turned invisible and got behind it and plugged my sword through it. There was only one issue I had dulled the blade by doing this! I guess even Raganash’s swords have their limits.
